LayerZero is a cross-chain messaging protocol. Token issuers use its OFT standard to deploy one token across many chains. It is built by LayerZero Labs, led by co-founder and CEO Bryan Pellegrino, and its token is ZRO.

LayerZero is deployed on HyperEVM, and on 14 May 2025 it launched the Hyperliquid Bridge, which moves assets from any LayerZero chain into HyperCore and HyperEVM. Day-one assets were USDT0, USDe, PLUME, COOK, USR and RLP. Any OFT issuer can apply to be listed. Hyperliquid's docs list LayerZero for cross-chain messaging.
